Quilts for Main Street

On July 22, a fire in Bothell, WA completely destroyed 15 businesses on the town’s historic Main Street. A local fabric shop, Keepsake Cottage Fabrics, is collecting blocks to make quilts to comfort the owners of those businesses.

I took some time last night to sew up some blocks. They’re asking for 6 inch (finished), red and white nine-patch blocks made using 2 1/2 inch squares.

If you’d like to join in, they have said you can make blocks and either bring them in to the shop (if you’re local) or send them to:

  1. Lorinda, thanks so much for letting us know about the fire. I’ll get started on some blocks tomorrow. How lucky I just bought red fabric recently for Christmas! That will certainly help.
